Recent "success" with introducing new bytecode - e.g. InvokeDynamic - seems to motivate people to come with more and more reasons why add new bytecodes. Value classes as proposed at https://blogs.oracle.com/jrose/entry/value_types_in_the_vm are one such attempt.
