Nashorn is the JavaScript engine of JDK8. NetBeans team has been working closely with the Nashorn guys to deliver the best out of the box support for Nashorn in upcoming NetBeans 8.0. See the result!
Debugging Mixed Java/JavaScript Applications
The following video shows how easy it is to use NetBeans 8.0, JDK8 to debug an application that intermixes Java and JavaScript calls. One can put breakpoints into Java part, as well as JavaScript source code, inspect Java as well as JavaScript variables and switch between these two languages without any restrictions.
In addition to the above highlighted features, we also demonstrated how easy it is to write Java libraries that call into JavaScript thanks to our revolutionary Html4Java core library and additional libraries built on top of it (like for example Knockout4Java).
Mixing Java and JavaScript has never been easier!
