Beta is an OOP language which I tried to learn during my university days. However I never had a computer powerful enough to run Beta compiler. Not because the language would be more complicated than Java, but we used to have just Intel 80486 at that time and nobody bothered to make Beta compiler available for such limited hardware (nobody bothered to port Java standard edition either).

I especially like beta's preference of inner over super. And I still don't get what is so exciting on Beta's patterns (but I am sure that would change with having a practical experience).
