It's a common practice of mine:

1) search torrents for an argument of interest 2) download all 3) evaluate all 4) buy the hard copy (or the digital one) of the valuable ones.

I hate buying dummy books (or books for dummies;). I also hate pirating...

Obviously, I have the hard copy of Practical API Design on my desk, but I ordered it bypassing the usual workflow - no fear about the value, here!
