One of the students that started the Xelfi project that morphed into NetBeans then. David is interested in user interfaces and maintains NetBeans window system - a docking framework for any Swing desktop application. David likes to design APIs too and especially likes to search for similarities and differences between API and UI design.

Also I'd like to say big thanks to David for helping me solve the HtmlForFood problem by donating the picture that I used at the end decided to use in the book.
